Elegance and Eccentricity

The "Elegance and Eccentricity" of modern-day romanticism were beautifully revived by Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, which later blossomed into the hit TV show. But to truly appreciate this revival, it's essential to revisit the era where it all began and recognize its defining personalities. For me, the Regency Era dates back to the days of Napoleon, Tolstoy’s War and Peace, and, of course, the most beloved Jane Austen. Her sharp wit, charming characters, and timeless romanticism continue to captivate. And oh, Mr. Darcy - dreamy, dignified, and the epitome of what a gentleman should be.

But when it comes to fashion, however, I must admit that I’m not a fan of the Empire dress style. While historically significant, it does not do any justice to the female figure and often makes women appear overly juvenile. That being said, I have curated a fashion set that takes inspiration from the era but modernizes it in a more flattering way.

Picture dresses with dramatic puff sleeves or bustier-style silhouettes in soft pastel hues, perfectly complemented by delicate pearl accents in both jewelry and footwear. Elegant, structured mini bags, and of course, no Regency-inspired look would be complete without the grace of gloves.

So, who is your favourite character couple: Lizzy & Mr. Darcy or Penelope & Colin Bridgerton?
